CTV news is owned by Bell Media. CTV makes money on the website by advertising for businesses in various formats: video, banners, and clickable ads. When I followed the tab “advertise on CTV news” it takes you to “Lede” which appears to be advertising for the various channels, shows, and movies and partners that BellMedia either has interest in or is promoting. At the bottom of the page, you are directed to other types of advertising that is available to purchase, such as radio, tv, digital, and out-of-home advertising (billboards, bus stop ads, etc).

Hmm, I think most people would consider a news site to be ‘information’ – but I get how it’s in-between.
