Etsy is a brokerage site that exists to bring homemade/unique items easily to the market so a small business can sell their products. Etsy makes money in a few different areas:
- Seller Commission: When a “shop owner” sells a product, Etsy charges a 3.5% commission.
- Listing Charge: Etsy charges the seller approxinatley 0.20 per iten to list those items. The listing is active for 4 months.
- Promotion Advertising: Etsy charges the seller an extra fee to promote the shop, and fees for using Etsy’s shipping labels.
